In 1973/74 the "Sports School of the DTSB" was built on the idyllic outskirts of Oberhof. Due to the proximity of the winter sports facilities and cross-country trails in the region, this house is the ideal starting point for training camps and sporting activities.

Since then, many athletes in winter sports have been technically and tactically prepared for major championships by their coaches and supervisors. Sporthotel Oberhof has emerged as one of the most sought-after accommodation establishments in Oberhof and is a popular meeting place for well-known coaches and athletes, regular guests, and enthusiastic Oberhof visitors.
